Efficiency seminar features Grundfos design tool for cooling supply system

The new Grundfos Design Tool will get a high-profile introduction at the conference "Ressourceneffiziente Produktionstechnik" (Resource-Efficient Production Technology) in Aachen, Germany, February 9-10.

Regional Manager Holger Fritsche from Grundfos will present the Design Tool, the user-friendly program that enables professional machine tool designers to configure the optimal cooling lubricant supply system.

"A lot of systems are oversized," explains Fritsche. "It's not necessary to 'wear your safety belt' all the time [when designing a system]. The engineering guys might start with a duty point of 100 litres, but they go to the filtration system supplier and say 120 litres, just to be safe. Then they might tell the pump supplier 150-160 litres. It's not necessary.

"I'll show how the Design Tool makes it possible to check my existing system, and then how I can use it to easily make a really good new system."

Broad range of speakers

Fritsche is one of 19 speakers. Others range from machine tool producers, car manufacturers, filtration system producers, politicians and environmental organizations. More than 200 people are expected to attend.

The conference is hosted by Prof. Fritz Klocke, Chair of Manufacturing Technology at WZL RWTH Aachen University and Dr. Dirk Friedrich, managing partner Grindaix GmbH.

Main subject areas include the following:

- Manufacturing / Process
- Machinery / Equipment
- Transport / Logistics
- Assembly & Automation Systems
- Industrial buildings
- Product life cycle / CO2 footprint
- Product Design / Recycling.
